Description:
Citrus Solutions has successfully completed the replacement and reconstruction of the State Revenue Service (SRS) customs control point video surveillance system servers. The existing system was modernized, including 8 servers at the SRS main office in Riga, Talejas Street, as well as 24 servers at customs control points (CCPs) across Latvia:
• In Riga: Airport CCP, Freeport of Riga CCP, and Sorting Station CCP
• In Latgale: Terehova CCP, Grebneva CCP, Vientuli CCP, Pāternieki CCP, Silene CCP, Zilupe CCP, Rēzekne II CCP, Indra CCP, Kārsava CCP, and Daugavpils Cargo Station CCP
• In Kurzeme: Liepāja Port CCP and Ventspils Port CCP
The project timeline was challenging—40 working days—but we managed to complete all tasks 5 days ahead of schedule, within 35 working days! This is an excellent result, considering some of the hardware was custom-made, and its delivery required significant time. To carry out the project, our specialists ordered the equipment, developed tailored solutions for each CCP, and completely replaced and configured the servers that support the video surveillance system. The server modernization improved the system’s performance, enabling faster and more efficient data processing and customs surveillance. This is especially crucial for facilitating tax collection and enhancing the fight against smuggling and other illegal activities.

The cooperation between the SRS and Citrus Solutions at customs control points has been ongoing for several years. From 2017 to 2019, Citrus Solutions implemented the video surveillance system for customs needs, installing over 800 surveillance cameras that were integrated into a unified security management system. At the time, these solutions were highly advanced, but in the fast-evolving technology field, five years is enough for even the most cutting-edge solution to become outdated. We are pleased that the server replacement work, following a procurement competition, was entrusted to Citrus Solutions.
