Description:
The bridge over the River Gauja in Valmiera is one of the most significant transport infrastructures in the town, as it connects two equally functional parts of the town, which are separated by the River Gauja. With the increase of the town’s traffic, in recent years one of the increasingly important questions was the issue of bridge reconstruction. We undertook the bridge’s telecommunications network reconstruction and transfer. Bridge reconstruction works took place from October of 2011 to December of 2012. During that time, the old bridge was completely torn down, redirecting vehicle and pedestrian traffic on the temporary bridge. The total length of the bridge is 144 metres, and it is the longest pedestrian bridge in Latvia.
